#one day this week, my sweet Mom and I went to the movies.
I was visiting for Mother’s Day. She suggested we watch ππ©π¦ ππ¦π·πͺπ ππ¦π’π³π΄ ππ³π’π₯π’ at home one night and then head to the theater the next day for the sequel.
She had the schedule. She had the plan.
We watched the first one and enjoyed every minute of it.
The next day, we tackled our chores – buying flowers for the pots, picking up a prescription, fixing a shelf in the garage, and getting her car serviced – and then headed to the theater.
We were excited. Organized. We even had snacks tucked into our pockets.
When we arrived, we realized we had miscalculated the time and we were an hour early.
After all that planning, we just looked at each other and laughed.
We had no problem filling the hour. Eventually we settled into our seats, with a closed caption screen set up for mom. Fast talking movies can be hard for her ears to follow now. The movie exceeded our expectations.
We had the best time.
Movies. Snacks. Laughter. Another blessed Mother’s Day with my sweet Mom.
I know not everyone gets one more ordinary day like this.
I don’t take them lightly anymore.
