A strong feeling of support or allegiance that is steadfast in the face of adversity.
It’s powerful when leaders deeply feel allegiance to their team, and make the time to demonstrate it in good times (with celebrations) and bad (with coaching). Easy to say, requires strength to do every day.
Same principles apply at home. I recently had a conversation late at night with a friend who was frustrated with a request from her parents. Taking the time to listen, hear the concern, and provide a different perspective helped her to see the request was really about spending time together and not about the specific task. My loyalty to this relationship meant I prioritized this conversation even at a time my mind felt full. A bonus was the human connection that in turn relaxed my mind.
