One day this week, (Oct 2024), Dad had a seizure and a mini-stroke.
Afterwards his heart was racing, blood pressure extremely low, and then he fell into a DEEP sleep. I am told this is common.
None of it feels real. Or common. Or right.
It has been 23 months since we received a formal medical diagnosis of dementia.
A few hours later, Mom is rubbing his shoulders and he opens his eyes and winks at her.
Conversation this day:
Mom: Hello there Bob Irwin.
Dad: Hi honey.
…immediately back to sleep for a few more hours. He wakes again.
Mom: I’m happy to see you.
Dad: I’m happy to see you too.
That’s my Dad today.
Please keep my Dad and my family in your thoughts. (Photo from his 80th birthday below).
