A leader can process and enhance thinking by writing things down. Writing things down helps to clarify, prioritize, and remember. An additional benefit comes when you allow the writing to guide the evolution of your thoughts and not constrain them. Doodling as you write can intensify the creativity of your thoughts and retention of your ideas. Easy to say, requires strength to do every day.
Same principles apply at home. I was given a beautiful leather journal this week to use as I approach planning my next book and an upcoming long motorcycle journey. The book provides a delightful home for my thoughts and dreams and plans that are currently swirling around in my head. Do you spend time writing and doodling to unleash your creative thoughts?
